Cortinarius watsoneae, a new species of Agaricomycetes (Cortinariaceae) from the Gulf States

Cortinarius watsoneae, a new species in subgenus Myxacium, sect. is described from pine and mixed hardwood forests the Gulf States region of North America. It characterized by young lamellae that are grayish violet to pale violet, relatively large basidiospores comparison C. mucosus. The ITS sequence distinct other members with 97% similarity closest known species, collinitus named honor late Geraldine Watson.
